Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Rapid Prototyping
Our Solid Works certified design team can model anything you can imagine in 3-D. Their creations are brought to life with our Fortus 400mc 3-D printer, which uses fused deposition modeling, a layer additive manufacturing process, to create production-grade thermoplastic prototypes and low-volume production parts. Our 3-D printed FDM parts are accurate to .006” and have an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. These parts are commonly used in aerospace, automotive, industrial, commercial, and medical applications. Nearly all of Aquila’s products leverage our 3-D printing capabilities at some point in development or production. The AN/PDR-75A Dosimetry System, which passed the U.S. Army’s brutal 1st Article Tests, contains FDM production parts and is one testament to their resilience. Other in-house manufacturing and testing equipment includes a 24” x 36” 110W CO2 laser, two ESPEC 5’ x 10’ programmable temperature chambers, an LDS Electrodynamic Shaker, an ultrasonic cleaning bath, and a Tektronix DP 7354 Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope, among other tools.
