Custom Solutions

Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Rapid Prototyping
Our Solid Works certified design team can model anything you can imagine in 3-D. Their creations are brought to life with our Fortus 400mc 3-D printer, which uses fused deposition modeling, a layer additive manufacturing process, to create production-grade thermoplastic prototypes and low-volume production parts. Our 3-D printed FDM parts are accurate to .006” and have an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. These parts are commonly used in aerospace, automotive, industrial, commercial, and medical applications. Nearly all of Aquila’s products leverage our 3-D printing capabilities at some point in development or production. The AN/PDR-75A Dosimetry System, which passed the U.S. Army’s brutal 1st Article Tests, contains FDM production parts and is one testament to their resilience. Other in-house manufacturing and testing equipment includes a 24” x 36” 110W CO2 laser, two ESPEC 5’ x 10’ programmable temperature chambers, an LDS Electrodynamic Shaker, an ultrasonic cleaning bath, and a Tektronix DP 7354 Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope, among other tools.

Software Development
Aquila’s software development team creates intuitive, custom applications for microcontrollers, PCs, and mobile devices. It holds an Apple Developer and Made For Apple license and integrate iOS applications into several of our devices. We have applied our diverse skill set to an amazing variety of applications: including microcontrollers, lithium-ion and solar-charging circuits, remote communications via iridium satellite, and the first version of Tinder.

We have custom software in nuclear security and military systems around the world.

We’d love to work together! Please contact us to discuss your custom project.

Aquila’s design and manufacturing processes are defined in compliance with ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Standards and on-site test equipment allows design and engineering staff to test up to MIL STD 810E ruggedness standards. Having achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification since 2010, Aquila employs an electronic-based Quality Management Control system, SimpleTRAK, to increase employee involvement, customer satisfaction, and data effectiveness, while decreasing production costs and time.
